An Icelandic weekend – The Gallery
From the land of Fire & Ice
These shots were taken at the end of May 2007 over a 3 day mini-break. Not enough time really for this beautiful country and hence the need to revisit. Plans are for early in 2018 to try and also capture the Northern Lights, and much more of this stunning country.
We followed the Golden Circle to pick up these sights.
The technical bits
As always these shots have been pre-processed in Adobe's Lightroom, before heading onto Adobe's Photoshop. Then the majority of these images have been tweaked with Google's Nik filter collection - mostly HDR Efex Pro 2 to extract the most from the 12bit RAW files. The files are then imported back into Lightroom for final catalogue.
These images where shot on a Canon EOS-1D Mark II N with the EF16-35mm F/2.8L USM lens. As with so many shots of this era the images where plagued by dust spots, partly due to user error on my part, that had to be touched up in post-production.
